The HYROX Format
Each athlete must complete 8 km of running in total, alternating 1 km run with a functional station. As a standardized format, Cape Town is the perfect setting to chase a PB (Personal Best) and compare your times with the rest of the global community.
The 8 HYROX Stations
1000 m SkiErg
Watch out for the "fire" in your shoulders; manage the initial pace well.
50 m Sled Push (sled push)
Pure leg strength. At the CTICC the floor usually has good grip.
50 m Sled Pull (sled pull)
Pull with your whole body, not just your arms. Keep your core tight.
80 m Burpee Broad Jumps
This is where athletes are separated from warriors. Iron mindset.
1000 m Rowing (Row)
Control your heart rate while maintaining a strong pace.
200 m Farmers Carry (farmer's carry)
Your grip will be tested. Good wrist wraps here are life.
100 m Sandbag Lunges (sandbag lunges)
Accumulated fatigue in the quadriceps. Don't look down.
100 Wall Balls
The "final boss." 100 throws to cross the finish arch.
