From September 25–27, Huntington Beach (California) hosts a new edition of Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal, the sister event to the Wodapalooza in Miami that, since 2024, has brought the functional fitness party to the west coast of the United States.
What is the Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal
The SoCal Fitness Festival combines high-level competition with a festival atmosphere: three days of sport, community, and California beach life, with thousands of athletes and fans enjoying Huntington Beach.
Battle Of The Camps: the new team format
The big news for this edition is the format change in the team competition. Until now, the matchup was United States versus the rest of the world. This year it gives way to Battle Of The Camps, where four squads compete representing four leading CrossFit programming brands:
- PRVN
- Brute
- Training Think Tank
- The Outcasts, the team made up of independent athletes or those without fixed programming
It's a substantive change, not just a new name: instead of a geographic rivalry, the competition now measures training methodologies against each other.
Competition divisions
In addition to Battle Of The Camps, SoCal brings together several divisions open to community athletes:
- Individuals
- Co-Ed Pairs
- Teams
- Adaptive Pairs

Velites, present in Under Pressure
Under Pressure is the workout with which Velites is present in the three divisions of the Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal, and in all three the protagonist is the same: the Earth 2.0 by Velites.
- Individuals: 150 Heavy Double Unders to start, followed by a third block of Clean & Jerks scaled (12 @ 155/105, 9 @ 185/135, 6 @ 225/155, 3 @ 275/185) and, in between, hold handstand balance on parallettes for as long as possible without losing control.
- Co-Ed Pairs: turn-based format. First, a 7-minute AMRAP of 300 heavy double unders followed by max calories on the rower, alternating every 15 calories. Then, an 8-minute AMRAP of clean & jerks with the same progressive loads, also alternating between partners.
- Teams: a single 17-minute AMRAP with rotating roles among the three teammates — rowing, heavy double unders and clean & jerks — while one team member holds weight in suspension (on the bar or in the front rack) while the other two work.

The Earth 2.0 will be available in 4 official cable lengths (235 cm, 250 cm, 265 cm and 280 cm, 8 mm Blue Monster cable) with maximum weighting: 150 g inside and 200 g outside on each handle, up to a total rope weight of 1.25 kg (2.5 pounds).
If you're competing in any of the three divisions, the best way to arrive prepared is to train in advance with the same weighted rope. That's why we recommend getting your Earth 2.0 before the event, so you arrive with technique already adapted to the weight and cable length that works best for you.
The Velites booth in Huntington Beach
Velites will be present with a physical store at the event, where you can see and try in person all the brand's equipment. As the official sponsor of jump ropes, grips and wrist wraps of the Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal, at the booth you'll find:
- Co-branded CrossFit Games product and items from the Velites CrossFit collection.
- The new autumn colors of the HOLO collection.
- Event co-branded special wrist wraps.
- The ropes used by athletes during the competition, available afterwards at a discount for those who want to keep training or compete with them.
Exclusive: the CrossFit Games champions' apparel
Only in Huntington Beach, and only while the event lasts, you can get something that isn't available online: apparel from the CrossFit Games collection that athletes didn't end up wearing on the floor, including that of the 2026 champions, James Sprague and Aimee Cringle. Velites always produces extra apparel to outfit its athletes during competition, and that surplus is only released at events like this.
Velites x Brute and Velites x PRVN, the two programming partners we collaborate with
Of the four teams in Battle Of The Camps, Velites has an active collaboration with two: Brute and PRVN. In Huntington Beach you'll be among the first to get the t-shirts from the new Brute x Velites drop, currently on pre-sale, which will be available directly for purchase at the booth. Alongside them, the full Velites x PRVN collection will also be available.
